Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the National Police Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam) Komjen Pol Drs Putut Eko Bayuseno gathered four regional police chiefs in Kalimantan to discuss forest and land fires (Karhutla).
"Kalimantan is one of the areas vulnerable to fire every dry season, so this meeting is important to coordinate among the regional police to overcome it," said Komjen Putut in Banjarmasin on Wednesday.
According to Putut, the coordination meeting of the Kalimantan Regional Police is expected to further increase the synergy in all matters for the prevention and control of fire.
"Regional police in Kalimantan can not work alone, must unite to coordinate and exchange innovation, including strengthening communication with all relevant stakeholders," he said in a meeting at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
The three-star Police General revealed that all regional police in Kalimantan is the priority of a total of nine regional police in Indonesia whose area is prone to smoke haze disaster due to land fires.
He also ensures all efforts have been made by Police for land and forest fire this year to be prevented. One of which by mobilizing all members of public order officers (Bhabinkamtibmas) as the spearhead to socialize to the community, both farmers and companies, not to burn the land for any reason.
"If the socialization has been done and people still burn the land, then get ready to be caught by the police to be responsible for his actions before the law," he said.
Until now, said Putut again, the hotspot that appears very small when compared to previous years. Moreover, the rain continued to flush even though it has entered the dry season.
"Insya Allah, if September over it is still raining, this year we'll be safe from forest and land fire because it has entered the rainy season," he said in front of the meeting participants.
The four police chiefs assembled are South Kalimantan Police Chief Brig Gen Rachmat Mulyana as host, Central Kalimantan Police Chief Brig Gen Anang Revandoko, East Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Safaruddin, and West Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Erwin Triwanto.
Meanwhile, Rachmat in Banjarmasin asserted ready in the effort to overcome fire. In fact, he asked his staff to innovate, both in terms of infrastructure facilities and preventive outages, including socialization by members in the field.
As did Comr Wahyu Hidayat from Central Banjarmasin who made Alkon motor to carry water jerry can at once spray it through the pull of gas on a motorcycle. The innovation then got appreciation from Banjarmasin Police Chief Sr Comr Anjar Wicaksana.
