The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that a magnitudo 2.3 shallow earthquake had trembled Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU), South Kalimantan, Tuesday.
Head of the Geophysics Station of the Balikpapan BMKG Rasmid when confirmed from Banjarmasin said that the tectonics quake centered on the land about 21 kilometers northeast of HSU District occurred at 12.12 WITA (Center Indonesia Time Zone).
“The location is at 2.28 South Latitude-115.30 East Longitude, at a depth of nine kilometers,” he said.

Rasmid said that the agency has analyzed the point of the quake and its magnitude.
“No damage has been found caused by the quake, and there have been no report from local community experiencing the incident,” he said.
Rasmid appealed to the people around to report if they find any impact of the quake to the nearest officers, such as the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), and related agencies.
He asked people not to panic if earthquake occurs, and keep monitoring the latest and most reliable information through the BKMG official website and channels.
“If there is the latest information, we will immediately report through the official BMKG website and channels,” said Rasmid.
