Balangan Police trained policemen on how to cultivate fish using biofloc system. The training was attended by section heads up to Bhabinkamtibmas (Public Security and Order Supervising Police Officer) as preparation for their duty as food security driving police.

"The National Police (Polri) not only maintain security stability, they also take an active role in economic and social stability through food security," said Chief of Intelkam (Security Intelligence) of Balangan Police Iptu (1st Inpector) Paisal Kadafi, who initiated the activity, on Tuesday.

He said this program is designed as a preparation for participants, especially Bhabinkamtibmas who will go down to the community to support food security program.

They can also use it for themselves in the nutritious food program, a program to optimize home yard as a food source.

Paisal said that in the implementation the police do not act as farmers, but as facilitators to encourage residents to be actively involve in the program.

The training was also a form of Polri's commitment in supporting the building of resilient, independent and empowered community through innovative approach to food security.

"This program is a real contribution of Polri in supporting the national food security. We hope the continuation of this program can empower the community to be independent," said Paisal.

Some of the materials presented in the training includes understanding of biofloc, land use, making biofloc media, feeding pattern and harvesting as well as tricks for selling harvested products.

The activity ended with a review of a plan to make Nutritious Food Yard for Balangan Police using biofloc system fisheries method which was prepared behind the Balangan Police Office.
