Paringin, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Balangan Police and Food Security, Agriculture, and Fishery Office (DKP3) are synergizing in supporting the government's program for the national rice planting movement.
Balangan Chief of Police Adj.Sr.Comr. (AKBP) Riza Muttaqin here on Friday said that this program is the government initiatve to boost rice production to achieve national food self-sufficiency, especialy to anticipate the impact of El Nino.
"We will ensure the availability of rice seeds, agricultural equipments and good irrigation to support rice planting to obtain good yields," said Riza when checking agricultural land in Bihara Hilir Village, Awayan Sub-district, Friday.
The police chief pointed out that his party will oversee the success of this national program to run well for the welfare of farmers, especially in Balangan District.
According to him, food security is very important, thus his party ready to provide full support in term of security, supervision, and control, so that Balangan can boost agricultural productivity and distribution of superior rice.
Meanwhile, Head of Balangan DKP3 Abdurrahman Arrahimi said that his office will provide counseling to farmers through PPL (agricultural extension Officers).
DKP3 will also ready to lend water pump, as well as inviting residents to remain enthusiastic in the success of rice planting program.
Arrahimi hopes that this program will have a positive impact on national food security and welfare of farmers in Balangan.
"The presence of Polri (National Police) in supporting this program is an important step in maintaining security and smooth implementation," he said.
