PLN won the ISDA Award 2024 through its leading program "Menyulap Purun Menjadi Cuan" or turning sedge grass into money.

It was how PLN's TJSL program empowered local people in Kampung Purun (sedge grass village) in Banjarbaru, by providing training of processing purun into high quality products.

Since 2019, this program has succeeded in making Kampung Purun as a leading tourist destination and creative economy center. This program supports the achievement of SDGs point eight regarding decent work and economic growth.

Meanwhile, General Chair of CFCD Ir Thendri Supriatno highlighted the importance of CSR and SDGs program in company sustainability.

“Program like this is very important to support because they not only provide benefits for the community, but also ensure company sustainability and contribute to achieving SDGs 2030,” he said.

Through continuous assistance, the sedge grass or purun woven products now have high competitiveness in market. In fact, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kampung Purun continued to survive when many other sectors experienced serious challanges. For this reason, PLN UID Kalselteng was awarded the Gold category of ISDA Award 2024.
