Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru Narcotics Investigation Unit Police gutted 17.48 grams of crystal methamphetamine (sabu-sabu).


Police Chief AKBP (Adjunct Senior Commisioner Police) Eko Wahyuniawan here on Tuesday said the destruction of sabu-sabu done by soaking in a solution of detergent.

"The annihilation was witnessed by a number of stakeholders, including prosecutors, courts, and the Banjarbaru Narcotics Agency who viewed directly methamphetamine dissolving into the detergent water," he said.

The owner of the illicit goods, KN, also presented, that he can see the evidence was destroyed in a detergent solution until it dumped into the closet.

The gross weight of the crystal methamphetamine confiscated from the suspect on October 20, 2016 was 21.77 grams and a net weight of 18.57 grams.

"The methamphetamine was reduced by 1 gram for a proof in court and 0.08 gram for laboratory examination, so that methamphetamine were destroyed 17.48 grams," he said.

According to him, the destruction of evidence intended that no party is abusing the goods and misuse the target of the police operation.

While KN has committed the crime of abuse of narcotic class I kind of methamphetamine in violation of article 112 of Law Decree No. 35/2009 on narcotics.

"The threat is a minimum penalty of four years in prison and the case is still in process. If completed immediately transferred to the court for further processing," he said.
