Acting Regent of Tapin, South Kalimantan, Syarifuddin highlighted poverty rate in the district which needs to be addressed effectively.

"Especially for extreme poverty in Tapin, based on the 2021 Family Data Collection (PK 21) there were 1,678 families or 7,623 people," he said in Rantau, Tapin District, Saturday.

Then, during the leadership of acting Regent of Tapin, re-verification was carried out and it was recorded that926 families or 2,336 residents were in extreme poverty.

"As a temporary measure with this data, we are providing cash social assistance of IDR350,000 per person for four months to reduce the burden on people's expenses," he explained.

Syarifuddin said the distribution of direct cash assistance is in collaboration with PT Pos Indonesia.

On the hand, the Tapin government is also concentrating on reducing unemployment rate while increasing work force by 2024.

Head of Tapin Board of Development Planning, Research and Development (Bappelitbang) Meidy Harris Prayoga said that the data verification is still continuing.

"We will the new PK 23 data on 1,767 families or 7,974 people through out Tapin Regency," he said.

Meanwhile, providing cash social assistance of IDR350,000 per person is only a temporary measure.

"The plan is to carry it out every month for seven months in the 2024 budget," he said.
