Regent of Tanah Bumbu, south Kalimantan, Zairullah Azhar has opened the Perbasi Cup basketball tournament for secondary (SMP) and high school (SMA) students.
"The tournament held on February 26 to March 6, 2024 at the Kodeco basketball court, Simpang Empat Sub-district," said Assistant for Economy and People's Welfare Eryanto Rais here, Thursday.
He said the regional government fully supports and appreciates the Indonesian Basketball Assosciation (Perbasi) Tanah Bumbu for providing a field for producing outstanding youth, especially in sports.
Chairperson of the Perbasi Tanah Bumbu Dading Kalbuadi hopes that the Perbasi Cup tournament would become a fun and enthusiastic event, and can increase solidarity among students in Bumi Bersujud (nickname of Tanah Bumbu).

He also invited players to show their sportmanship and fair play in every match, so as to build a healthy and positive sport culture.
The tournament was participated by 18 teams, five male teams from secondary schools were SMPN 1 Simpang Empat, SMPN 1 Batulicin, SMPN 2 Kusan Hilir, SMPN 1 Kusan Hilir, and MTs Darul Azhar.
Three female teams from secondary were SMPN 1 Simpang Empat, SMPN 2 Kusan Hilir, and SMPN 1 Batulicin.
Then, the high school male team were six, namely SMAN 1 Simpang Empat, SMKN 1 Simpang Empat, SMKN 2 Simpang Empat, SMAN 1 Kusan Hilir, SMAN 1 Satui, and SMKS Kodeco.
The high school female teams to compete were SMAN 1 Simpang Empat, SMKN 1 Simpang Empat, SMKN 2 Simpang Empat, and SMAN 1 Kusan Hilir.
