The government of Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, held a beach cleanup as well as planting trees to mark the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) 2024. 

"We involve a number of companies to take part in this clean up action," said Head of Environment Office (DLH) of Tanah Bumbu Rahmad Prapto Udoyo here on Sunday.

The beach cleanup and tree planting was focus on the area of Ziyadatul Abrar Floating Mosque at Pagatan Beach, Kusan Hilir. This area is a tourism icon for Tanah Bumbu.  

The action was focus in Kusan Hilir in accordance with DED Revitalization of Siring Pagatan (embankment), according to him.

On the occasion, the regional government also handed over assistance of waste bins and introduced Julpikar's Waste Bank from the activities of donating, selling, sorting, and exchaning waste of economic value to the local community.

"This HPSN is not only to clean plastic waste, but also tree planting, innovation in waste utilization, and other things related to the environment," he expounded.

He expected all stakeholders to take real action on the environment. Because it is known that climate change is occuring very extraordinary, thus it is necessary to take real action for the existance of the environment in the future.
