South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin sent off 14 trucks of eggs to be distributed as additional food with animal protein for stunting and low-weight babies from the yard of Mahligai Pancasila Building, Banjarmasin, Saturday.
The distribution of eggs as additional food (PMT) for children aged 6-23 months to 13 districts and cities throuhgout South Kalimantan was in efforts to accelerate the reduction of stunting rate in the province.
The target of additional food with animal protein in the form of 14 trucks of eggs is 5,675 stunting babies (28.375 kg) and 6,182 low-weight toddlers (30.910 kg).
Uncle Birin expressed his appreciation to the entire South Kalimantan Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) and partners, who continue to collaborate to implement various intervention to lower the stunting prevalence, especially through PMT.
PMT intervention, he said, is expected to be able to educate community about the importance of children's nutritious food, so that South Kalimantan can have children who are tough, strong, intelligent, and free of stunting.
Uncle Birin reminded that the development of quality human resources is a national development priority mandate and is contained in the South Kalimantan priority program.
