The government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District, South Kalimantan, is begining to build 50 units of Integrated Welfare Home (RST) for 50 beneficiary families (KPM) as assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemensos RI).

Regent of HST Aulia Oktafiandi here on Saturday said that the construction of RST to commence after he symbolicaly handed over the fund disbursement accound book with a nominal value of IDR20 million per beneficiary.

“This assistance is provided because there are still people in Central Hulu Sungai who need housing due to economic difficulties,” he said.

Aulia explained that RST program ia a form of government concern to provide livable houses for underprivileged people.

“I ask the construction of these 50 houses to be on time and completed within 90 days,” he said.

He also advised beneficiary families to be grateful for the assistance provided by the government so that it would be a blessing.

According to him, the regional and central government are committed to meeting community needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. RST is one of the program to fulfil the need for habitable housing.

The handover of aid was also witnessed by member of House of Representative (DPR RI) from South Kalimantan Saiful Rasyid, who played a role in proposing RST assistance for HST.

Acting Head of the HST Social, Population Control, and Family Planning, Women Empowermen and Child Protection (Dinsos PPKB-PPPA) Eddy Rahmawan said the 50 beneficiaries were spread across five different sub-districts.

“The healthy house standard of RST program include living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom,” he said.
