Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of South Kalimantan Public Works Agency  Martinus expects help from Special Allocation Fund (DAK) that specifically to accelerate Pulau Laut Strait Kotabaru bridge construction.

"In addition to expecting the state budget funds through a program of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kemenpupera), Special DAK also needed to accelerate development of Pulau Laut Strait Kotabaru bridge," he said in Banjarmasin on Monday.

The reason, said former acting Mayor of Banjarbaru, with Special DAK included in the provincial budget will be easier to manage.

"We hope that central government  (aid) either through Kemenpupera or Special DAK included in the purely state budget in 2017 or at least on the 2016 state budget revision," he said to AntaranewsKalsel.

He explained that the bridge construction, which connects the Kalimantan mainland with the island of Pulau Laut --the Kotabaru district capital--  continues.

"By using South Kalimantan budget funds in 2015 and 2016 respectively Rp50 billion and Rp61 billion, construction of the bridge which estimate expand six kilometers has now been the second phase according to plan," he said.

He added that in addition to building the bridge, the provincial government also build Pulau Laut ring road which extends for 400 kilometers.

"The status of the ring road is still the district road, but no harm if we do it together with the district government and central government," he said after a plenary session of South Kalimantan Legislative Council.

According to him, the existence of Kotabaru bridge and Pulau Laut ring road have strategic value and double benefits, namely to support the resilience of the archipelago or the eastern maritime region. It also to further open the isolation, fishermen and tourism development of considerable potential in this region.

Based on the planning of Pulau Laut Strait bridge construction will cost not less than Rp3.6 trillion, with a sharing system, the provincial government Rp500 billion, then Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu regency (Tanbu) respectively Rp250 billion, the rest will be central government.
