Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Social Service, Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Dinsosnakertrans) conducted a raid into companies to be aware of the influx of foreign workers by illegal means.


Head of Dinsosnakertrans H Gusti Syamsul Bahri here on Tuesday said the agency routinely conduct surveillance of foreign workers to companies in Kotabaru.

"The supervision or raid merely to anticipate that no foreign workers here working without legal documents," he said.

Syamsul admitted that, until now it has not found any illegal foreign workers. While foreign workers in Kotabaru already have valid documents from the relevant authorities.

Former Head of Public Works said there are about 20 foreign workers in Kotabaru district. They work in the cement industry PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa (ITP) Tarjun, cooking oil company PT Golden Hope Nusantara, a coal company PT Arutmin Indonesia, and other enterprises.

They work in the field of information technology, technical and special operator skills or other fields.

Despite not finding illegal foreign workers, Dinsosnakertrans remain vigilant and not unmindful of the foreign workers by conducting routine surveillance.
