Six schools in the Tabalong Districts, South Kalimantan Province, have won the 2022 National Adiwiyata awards from the Environment and Forestry Ministry.
 
The ministry bestowed the awards on schools that have a high commitment in maintaining environmental harmony in all aspects.
 
"Six schools win the 2022 National Adiwiyata awards," said a functional officer for environmental extension at the Tabalong Environment Agency Sri Normiyati, Tuesday. 
 
SMP Negeri 6 Tanjung, SMP Negeri 1 Banua Lawas, Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 9 Tanjung, MAN 2 Tabalong, SMP Negeri 5 Tanta, and SD Negeri 1.5 Belimbing are the schools that winning the Adiwiyata.
 
While the candidate for Adiwiyata Mandiri this year, SMP Neger1 4 Murung Pudak, have not passed the assessment. The only Adiwiyata Mandiri school in Tabalong was the public high school SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung.
 
Sri added that in 2022 only one school has won the provincial Adiwiyata, the public junior high school SMP Negeri 1 Jaro.
 
At the same time, five junior high school have won the district level Adiwiyata, they are SMP Negeri 7 Muara Uya, SMP Negeri 7 Haruai, SMP Negeri 5 Tanjung, SMP Alam Muhammadiyah Tanjung, and SMP Tahfidz Nurul Musthofa Mabuun.
 
"This year we will continue dissemination and assessment for Adiwiyata school with a target of 75 school from the primary to the high school level," Sri expounded.

The agency through the activity of socialization and assessment invites schools to bolster the Adiwiyata program.

It aims include creating good condition for schools to become places for learning and raising awareness among schools residents to take responsibility in saving the environment.
 
The agency also forms an Adiwiyata guiding and assessment team as an effort to realize an environmentally friendly schools in 'Bumi Saraba Kawa' (Tabalong's nickname).
 
According to her, the critea in Adiwiyata assessment covers four aspects, namely school policies that environmentally sound, environmentally-based school curriculum, participatory-based environmental activities, and the management of school infrastructure and supporting facilities that are environmentally friendly.
