Irrigation network in Tapin District, South Kalimantan, which is planned to irrigate 5,472 hectares of agricultural land is targeted for completion in December 2022.
"The construction has reached 60 percent of completion," said technical staff of BWS (River Management Agency) Region Kalimantan III Gunadi Anom, Tuesday.
The irrigation development worth IDR156 billion, which sourced from the state budget (APBN), is connected to the Tapin Dam which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo, last February.

The irrigation, that has an outcome of 2,275 and an output of 22.42 km, will be able to irrigate 5,472 hectares of the district's agricultural land.
"The Tapin District Government fully support this irrigation development," he said.
The network of the irrigation covers 24 villages, which are in the sub-districts of Bungur, Tapin Tengah, Tapin Utara, Tapin Selatan, and Lokpaikat.
Head of the Tapin Agriculture Office Wagimin said that when the construction is completed the irrigation will be able to increase the intensification of Planting Index (IP) from IP100 to IP200, IP 300 to IP 400.
"With this estimate, the annual increase in rice production will be 476,705 tons (increases by 30,436 tons)," he said.
