The Banjarmasin Education Office decided to stop 100 percent face-to-face learning starting Monday, February 7, 2022.

"Beginning Monday face-to-face learning is limited, not 100 percent anymore," said Secretary of Education Office Hendro here on Saturday.

According to him, due to the spike of COVID-19 case in the city, offline learning will be limited to a maximum capacity of only 50 percent per class.

"The maximum duration of learning is only six hours," said Hendro.

Meanwhile, parents will be given two choice, either to allow their children for face-to-face learning (PTM) or online learning (PJJ).

"Strict health protocols will be implemented during limited PTM," he said.

He asked students to bring their own food supplies from home, not to borrow stationery from each other, and to immediately report to teacher if they feel sick.

"All of this will be closely monitored, especially the implementation of health protocols," he said.

Before this policy was issued, four junior high schools in Banjarmasin have stopped offline learning and switched to online (PJJ), because some students were exposed to COVID-19.

COVID-19 case in the city is showing an increase every day, even active cases have almost reached 500 at this time.
