The management of Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa (ITP) Tarjun collaborated with journalists to socialize waste issues, especially at the Kampung Pelangi area in the neighborhood unit (RT) of RT 12.

“This is very good, especially since we know that Kampung Pelangi in Hilir Muara Village is under the guidance of the Kotabaru Environment Agency. We see the public awareness is very good,” Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) Indocement Tarjun, Agus Rifani noted in a press release.

A friendly environment, he said, has become Indocement's commitment. The company certainly supports related activities as evidence of concern for the preservation of a well-maintained environment.

“In Hilir Muara Village a waste bank has been built. This means that waste is no longer just thrown away, there is a good sorting so that it has economic value. We can clearly see that in this village it is almost difficult to find trash on the road,” he pointed out.

He hopes that the socialization carried out by journalists will enhance  public awareness of protecting the environment, including for the journalist themselves, and the Kampung Pelangi's environmental management can be followed by other community about how to maintain a good environment beginning from their own surrounding.

One of the output to be achieved is to further develop public awareness of the importance of the culture of not littering.

"We from Indocement advise that this kind of activity should not stop here, because it is all our homework to jointly maintain cleanliness. No less important is to continue to maintain the synergy between companies, journalists, and society in general,” he said.

Meanwhile,  the Head of Hilir Muara Village H Nurdin highly appreciated the environmental activities by journalists in Kotabaru and supported by Indocement. He believes that it will certainly have a positive impact on the surrounding community.

“Thanks to the journalist for carrying out positive activities in our village, and of course to Indocement who directly involved by going to the field to provide socialization and understanding to residents on the importance of a clean environment,” he added.
