PT Plantindo Agro Subur (PAS) in Candi Laras Utara Sub-district, Tapin District, gave a reward of IDR10 million in-kind to three villages that succeeded in making their areas fire-free.

SHE Officer of PT PAS Andri in Candi Laras Utara on Friday (24/12) said that the reward was an appreciation for the three villages which gave their support in preventing land and forest fire (karhutla).
 
"The reward from our company are presented to Sungai Salai Hulu Village, Sungai Salai Hilir Village, and Kaladan Village," he said.

The reward is given to support local village development infrastructure. For Sungai Salai Hulu Village it is in the form of bridge repair, and for road repairs for Sungai Salai Hilir Village and Kaladan Village.
 
"I hope this reward could help the residents of the villages and surrounding, nd hopefully in the future the efforts to prevent forest and land fire to continue to run well," he said.

Of course, he added, in the fire prevention and handling synergy must be established with the support of all stakeholders, either from the company, elements of the sub-district leadership, and the local community.
