The number of patients recovering from COVID-19 in Indonesia on Thursday increased by 232 to reach 4,112,524 , the COVID-19 Response Task Force informed.


According to the task force’s data, West Java recorded the highest number of recoveries at 53, followed by Jakarta (52), Central Java (26), East Java (20), Yogyakarta (15), and Bali (14).

Meanwhile, daily cases rose by 136, with West Java recording 26 new infections, Central Java 22, East Java 17, and Jakarta 16.

According to the task force, eight patients succumbed to the infection: five in Central Java, and one each in Bali, Lampung, and Gorontalo.

Since the first confirmed COVID cases were detected in Indonesia in March 2020, the task force has recorded 4,261,208 infections in the country.

Overall, the number of recoveries has reached 4,112,524 and the number of deaths 144,042.

On Thursday, the number of active COVID-19 cases fell by 104 to 4,642, while the number of suspected COVID-19 cases was recorded at 4,575 out of 289,085 specimens examined.

The task force called on the public to continue to comply with the health protocols, saying the COVID-19 pandemic is still on.

The health protocols include wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining physical distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
