The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Health Agency will disseminate COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-12, so it will be ready when the provincial government of South Kalimantan instructs its implementation.
The acting head of the agency Masbudianto here on Tuesday said that the vaccinations for children aged 6-11 has not yet been obliged in the province, including in HSU.
"But we need to socialize it in all puskesmas (community health centers) to reduce obstacles we may face in the implementation later," said Masbudianto.
He was optimistic the vaccinations for children will run well, because many people have understood and followed the vaccination, thus they no longer worry if their children will be vaccinated.
However, he did not deny the possibility that there are still parents who object it because of their less understanding of the benefit of vaccines.
This, Budi continued, is the duty of the agency to give an early explanation and understanding to the community in order for the implementation of vaccination to run well.
Meanwhile, one of the HSU residents, Ratna, was more worried about her child if the new Omicron variant, which is said to be faster in transmitting COVID-19, appears here.
Ratna said that many elementary school students and adult people had received the vaccine until the second dose and had no problems both to their physical condition and health.
She was finally aware that the news spreading on social media was a hoax. Now she sees more to the facts that COVID-19 vaccination are provided in many places and people were enthusiastic to participate for their safety.
