As many as 20 houses were collapsed in a landslide that hit Maradapan Island, Pulau Sembilan Sub-district, Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan.

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of Kotabaru DPRD Gewsima Mega Putra, who reported by his cellphone on Monday, said that the landslide in Maradapan Village occurred at around 13.15 Wita (Central Indonesia Time).

"Houses affected (collapsed) are estimated 20, no casualties reported so far, but many people fled to the sea on the ship," he said.

"We still unable to communicate with residents at the scene because the telephone line is disrupted," he said.
