The city government-owned hospital now provides a guiding block for the blind. Here, the visually impaired people will get their maximum service.
Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina appreciated the hospital for its innovation as he officiated it as the blind-people-friendly hospital.
This, he said, is a manifestation that the City of Banjarmasin is a "City For All", including in health service.
"This is a service innovation that the City of Banjarmasin, no matter who they are, have the right to get health care and services," he pointed out.
"The Sultan Suriansyah Hospital is equivalent to the vision and mission of world-class sustainable development. That is the hope, meaning that it is not just a proclamation of commitment but is actually realized better service going forward," he remarked.
In the series, Ibnu Sina handed over a reward of appreciation and a Radistra book to representatives of the Indonesian Union for the Blind (Pertuni) of Banjarmasin and the Indonesian People with Disabilities Association (PPDI) of Banjarmasin.
According to Ibnu Sina, it is a form of appreciation for Pertuni and PPDI for their participation in building the hospital to be disability-friendly.
