The Regent of Balangan Abdul Hadi received the Parahita Ekapraya award in the Madya (medium) category from the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection.
"The Balangan District Government will continue to be committed to realizing gender equality and protecting children," Abdul Hadi said in Paringin, Wednesday.
Parahita Ekapraya is an award for regions that embodies gender equality, justice for women, and the fulfillment of children's rights.
“The realization of gender equality is one of our significant steps in optimizing our human resources. While the fulfillment of children's rights is our big investment for our future human resources,” he pointed out.
In addition, he said, the role of women in contributing to the development of region and nation is certainly very necessary, especially in forging the character of children so they have a strong mentality in facing the future.
