Tanah Laut Regent HM Sukamta and Deputy Regent Abdi Rahman officiated the first harvest of hydroponic plants at the Berseri Green House owned by the state high school SMAN 1 Pelaihari, Tuesday (June 8, 2021).
In addition to introducing plants that do not need chemical fertilizers and free of pests, the development of hydroponic plants in the school environment is also as an alternative of entrepreneurship.
The business potential of hydroponic plants is not only for schools and students but also for teachers who have entered the period of retirement.
"This organic plant is very healthy for the body," said Sukamta.

The economic potential of hydroponic plants, he said, is very tempting, as it has a place in the modern market with a fairly high selling value, thus its business opportunity should be considered.
Sukamta hopes that people can use their own yards or lands in order for the organic vegetables from Tanah Laut to flood the retail and modern markets.
"This can be an opportunity to improve the community's economy," he said.
It should be noted that SMAN 1 Pelaihari received the 2020 National Adiwiyata award. Until now, the school continues to make every effort to improve the students in their learning.
