The Kotabaru Education and Culture Agency, South Kalimantan, has scheduled face-to-face learning to be held in mid-July 2021.

In June, said acting Head of Kotabaru Education and Culture Agency Slamet Riyadi, a meeting will be held with headmasters of elementary schools (SD), junior high schools (SMP), the district office of Religious Affairs Ministry, and supervisors to discuss the preparation of face-to-face learning in July.

"The coordination meeting will also involve Health Agency and COVID-19 Task Force to provide steps and strategies for face-to-face learning to comply with health protocols," he said.

Slamet Riyadi also asked the schools to use School Operational Assistance (BOP) fund to provide health equipment needed in face-to-face learning, including masks, sink, body temperature detectors, and handwashing tools.

In addition to health tools, the vaccine for teachers is one of the requirements that must be met in preparation for face-to-face learning.

Initially, vaccination was prioritized for educators in Pulau Laut Utara, Pulau Laut Sigam, Kelumpang Hilir, but now for almost all teachers in all sub-districts in Kotabaru.

Slamet Riyadi added that face-to-face learning refers to a joint decree (SKB) of four ministers, namely Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs.
