Plantation company PT Surya Langgeng Sejahtera and the Fire Care Farmers Group (KTPA) of each village in the PT SLS land cultivation right (HGU), namely Kalumpang, Balanti, Karang Buka, Bago Tanggul, and Balimau, agreed to jointly combat forest and land fires.

"The aim to involve the surrounding community and the company, so that there are not hotspots during the 2021 dry season," said PT SLS management representative Wawan Harianto who was attending the agreement with the forest and land fire prevention team in Kalumpang, Friday (May 21, 2021).
 
The forest and land fire combat will be carried out both in the company's HGU area and in villages in Kalumpang Sub-district.

He also conveyed messages from the board o directors of PT  SLS that the palm oil company to always increase cooperation with farmers (KTPA) around.

Secretary of Kalumpang Sub-district Museri expressed appreciation and gratitude for PT SLS for this agreement. This activity has actually been running for the last two years until now.

"The company has provided support for each KTPA, both in terms of equipment and other supporting operations," he said representing Kalumpang Sub-district head at the Kalumpang Sub-district office.
 
He also said that the prevention should not only be carried out by verbal and written socialization but also by clearing routes for land and water access to facilitate mobilization to fire-prone points. 

Also attending were Kalumpang Police Chief, Commander of Simpur Kalumpang Military Command, heads of villages, heads of KTPAs and members, and PT SLS management.
