Head of South Kalimantan Office of Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kanwil Kemenag Kalsel) H Noor Fahmi confirmed that the rukyatul hilal (lunar movement observationto determine the entry of Ramadhan 1442 Hijriyah will be carried out on Monday (April 12, 2021).

"We have scheduled rukyatul hilal on Monday simultaneously at several points," he said in Banjarmasin, Saturday.

"As usual Kanwil Kemenang will carry it out at the top of Bank Kalsel building," he said again.

At the same time, said Noor Fahmi, the district and city office of religious affair, especially in areas that have seafront, such as Kotabaru, Tanah Bumbu, and Tanah Laut, also carry out rukyatul hilal.

He said, Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) South Kalimantan, the local Hisab and Rukyah Agency, academics, High Religious Court, religious organizations, mosque councils, hisab (astronomical calculation) and rukyat practitioners, and elements of local Kemenag will be invited.

"Of course, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the activity will be performed cautiously by complying with a strict health protocol," he said.

According to him, whatever the results of the testimony of the rukyatul hilal later in South Kalimantan, whether they see it or not, will be reported to the central Ministry of Religious Affairs.

"Each Kanwil Kemenag in Indonesia reports the results of the rukyatul hilal to the isbat (confirmation) team in Jakarta, to be then confirmed, and will be announced on April 12," he said.
