The Balangan government  held a technical coordination meeting related to the preparation of face-to-face learning in January.

Regent Ansharuddin said that the opening of schools in early January must be carefully regulated by focusing on the strict application of health protocol in the school environment. 

"Alhamdulillah we agree to carry out face-to-face learning by conducting school trial per sub-district (kecamatan)," he said on Tuesday (Dec 29, 2020).

Before giving permission, Ansharuddin reminded the local government to verify the educational unit's proposal regarding the readiness of the checklist health protocol facilities, such as proper sanitation, hand washing, masks availability, disinfectant, hand sanitizer, thermogun, as well as data on students suffering from accompanied diseases.

"The important thing is that the sample schools must comply with the health protocol, and before giving lessons the teachers should be swab tested first," he said.

Acting Head of Balangan Education Agency Abdul Basyid said that the agency had already the concept of face-to-face learning that is according to the suggestions from various parties.

"So for each sub-district, there will be one SD (elementary school), one SMP (junior high), and one SMK (high vocational). We will prepare simulation and socialization as well as provide assistance," he explained.
