The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Task Force for COVID-19 Handling in a meeting chaired by Regent H Achmad Fikry and Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad agreed that face-to-face learning in the district to begin in January 2021.


The regent said the meeting on Tuesday was to respond the letter of request of the head of HSS Education Office for the opening of face-to-face schooling in January.

"With the hope, there is still time for more thorough preparation, even though the Education Agency stated it is ready now for the face-to-face learning, but the Task Force consider it must be completely prepared," he pointed out. 

He explained that the readiness is not only for schools with various facilities according to health protocol, but the role of parents is also very important, because teaching and learning process is carried out in limited time.

There is no break time, the school canteen does not open, children are asked to bring their meal from home. While BOS (school operational aid), various fund in school, are directed toward face-to-face readiness, wearing masks, washing hands with soap, and so on.

Monitoring is carried out in a month before January. The disrict, sub-district, and village task force to be more intensified and assigned to check the points of schools that would carry out face-to-face learning.

“If the see they physically are ready, of course we will allow face-to-face learning for a two months trial period, after which we will evaluate it," he said. 

Also attending, HSS Police Chief AKBP Siswoyo, 1003 Kandangan Military Commander Lt.Col. Arm Dedy Soehartono, Head of Education Office Hj. Siti Erma, Head of Health Agency dr. Siti Zainab, Head of Satpol PP (Public Order Agency) H. Iwan Friady, Head of Disaster Mitigation, National Unity and Politics Office (PB Kesbangpol) Roni Rusnadi, and all members of the task force.
