There is always a way for Professor Udiansyah to keep carrying on various programs and activities that are beneficial for the environment and the institution he leads.
One of which was to invite all staff of Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XI Kalimantan to take advantage of the year-end day to plant ulin (ironwood) which is typical Kalimantan trees in the office environment on Wednesday (Dec 30, 2020).
As a professor of the Faculty of Forestry of the Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Prof Udiansyah always committed to keeping on striving to save the environment from the threat of climate change that occurs.
The doctoral graduate of the University of the Philippines Los Banos also invited lecturers from all private universities in Kalimantan to plant trees, at least one for each person, to save the environment from dangerous climate change.
"Planting trees that we are doing now is one of the efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change," he said.
According to the alumni of SI (bachelor) in Forestry Economics, Mulawarman University, climate change brings a negative impact on the lives of people and surroundings, one of which is the emergence of various diseases that previously did not exist.
Thus saving the environment by planting trees is one of the responsibilities of all people that should continue to carry out.
Prof Udi also hopes that all private universities to prepare tree seedlings that can be planted on their campus for a better environment.
