Two environmental conservation organizations, Hijau Daun Association (PHD) Banjarmasin and Forum Komunitas Hijau (FKH) Citra Sanggam Balangan, planted trees to complete the collection at the Balangan Botanical Garden.

The botanical garden official, Pahnor, in Paringin, on Tuesday said that the PHD environmentalists were led by their builder Rahmatullah, who is better known as the Director of the Banjarmasin Wastewater Treatment Company (PD Pal).

Pahnor explained that the 8.2 hectares of Balangan Botanical Garden are divided into several zones, such as ulin plant zone, medicinal plant zone, agarwood plant zone, water plant zone, economic value zone, and honor zone.

A zone of honor is a planting area for respectable people. "If there is an official plant a tree, his name will be attached to the tree. If the tree age is one hundred years then the official's name will be remembered for a hundred years," Pahnor gave an example.

Asked about the animals in the Balangan Botanical Garde, which is about three kilometers from the capital of Balangan District, Paringin, he mentioned that here there are bekantan (proboscis monkeys), langurs, grays monkeys, gibbons, various birds, and reptiles.
