Kotabaru Regency hosted the 2020 South Kalimantan Tourism Technical Coordination Meeting on Monday (Nov 9, 2020). All heads of tourism offices from all over the province attended.
Acting Regent of Kotabaru M Syarifuddin was accompanied by the Regional Secretary H Said Akhmad, Economic Affairs Assistant, and related officials in the event took place at the Paris Barantai Building.
Acting Regent said this technical meeting was to synergize whatever the needs and desires of the districts and cities to increase tourism.
The acting regent, who is also the head of the South Kalimantan Tourism Office, said here the assistance of the provincial government to the districts and cities would be made an inventory to be then granted, so they could maintain the assistance.
"With a strong synergy, I hope it can improve the quality of infrastructure and tourist destination, the creative economy, and tourism promotion. Let us jointly advance tourism in SouthKalimantan as a source of economy and locomotive for development," said Syarifuddin.
Head of Kotabaru Tourism, Youth, and Sport Agency Khairian Anshari explained that Kotabaru had actually to host the meeting last March, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was postponed until finally Kotabaru was again appointed to host it.
