South Kalimantan Provincial Police Chief Insp.Gen. Nico Afinta appreciated the Kampung Tangguh Banua (the tough or resilient village) of Batu Tangga in Batang Alai Timur, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District, which has shown the resilient of its people.

"This village is not only resilient in guarding, checking body temperature, or food barn. It's really tough in social, economic, security, and health," Nico pointed out.

The arrival of the police chief and entourage in Batu Tangga on Thursday was welcomed by Meratus Dayak dance. He hoped all villages to become resilient villages, including those with confirmed positive residents.

"The kampung tangguh has truly become the basis for all of us to fight, face, and protect ourselves and the community from COVID-19," he asserted.

The kampung tangguh is also considered to be the frontline in providing assistance to the community in an effort to boost the rate of recovery and at the same time to reduce the rate of death on the way to welcome the new normal.

"Do not let any villagers who silently confirmed positive, do monitor quickly through kampung tangguh so they will be helped to get a quick treatment," he insisted.

The visit of the South Kalimantan Police Chief was welcomed by the HST Regent HA Chairansyah together with HST Police Chief AKBP Danang Widaryanto and Forkopimda (the District Leaders Communication Forum) as well as other elements.
