The government of Banjarmasin enthusiastically hoped to resume green zone, while the city dwellers continue to build what so-called as kampung tangguh banua (the local tough village) on their initiative.

Mayor H Ibnu Sina, as he inaugurated Belitung Utara and Basirih as the new tough urban village in West Banjarmasin, hoped the two will be the first to get back to green zone.

"The number of confirmed COVID-19 positive case in these two urban village is very low," he pointed out at the inauguration on Thursday.

Ibnu Sina said, the city did various ways to contain the outbreak so as not to spread, now the community contribution is growing bigger, including through the building of kampung tangguh banua.

It about how people ready to monitor people in and out, helping People Under Monitoring (ODP), Patient Under Surveillance (PDP) or people undergoing self-isolation, not to isolate them.

According to him, such areas will continue to be multiplied, mutual cooperation to overcome health problems will be realized in all areas, COVID-19 positive case can be reduced significantly and the number of recoveries increases a lot.

However, he reminded, the new positive cases still occur, even on that day had increased by 35 to bring the total to 1.432.

Ibnu Sina hopes, with the increasing number of residents aware and obeying health protocol, kampung tangguh banua increases, COVID-19 cases will go down, even no more, until all 52 urban villages in the city will return to be green zones.

"The places of worship are full again, schools back on their activities, this is what we must strive for together," he insisted.
