The District Military (Kodim) of 1004 Kotabaru together with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) held a social service by giving basic food packages and masks to pedicab drivers and other poor people.
Commander of Kodim 1004 Kotabaru Lt.Col. Inf. Rony Fitriyanto, together with Regent H Sayed Jafar, DPRD Speaker Syairi Mukhlis, and Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Andi Adnan Syafrudin, Commander of Kotabaru Naval Base Lt.Col Marine (P) Guruh Dwi Yudhanto, Head of Intel of Prosecutors Office distributed food packages to the people.
It was a form of concern for social-economic impacted disadvantaged people due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
”These social service activities are carried out simultaneously in the ranks of the Provincial Military Command (Korem) of 101 Antasari in all areas of South Kalimantan," said Rony, Saturday.
According to him, the target in the distribution of food packages was the people who directly affected by the outbreak of COVID-19, such as pedicab drivers, cart drivers, including warakauri (widows of military soldiers).

Not only at the headquarters of the Kodim, but the food packages were also handed over directly to the houses of the underprivileged residents at a number of points, namely around Jalan Tambak Permai, Jalan Bima, Pangeran Hidayat, and Gang Jambu.
The commander appealed to Kotabaru community to continue to obey the government's call in an effort to break the chain of the spread of coronavirus, including washing hands with soap and running water, always wear masks, and keep social distance and avoiding crowds.
DPRD Speaker Syairi Mukhlis appreciated the social service held by the ranks of TNI, especially in the Kodim 1004 Kotabaru.
"The assistance like this will be very meaningful for people in a difficult situation like now due to the outbreak of COVID-19," Syairi said.
