The South Kalimantan Task Force for Acceleration Handling of COVID-19 announced sad news of the death of three patients on Monday (May 11, 2020).


A spokesperson for the team, HM Muslim in Banjarbaru late on Monday said, all the three died patients were from Banjarmasin.

They namely were patient with code KS Covid 226, male, 54 years old; KD Covid 248, 61 years, and KS Covid 260, age 60.

Their death bringing the total number to 23 in South Kalimantan, 20 of them were Banjarmasin residents, two from Banjar District, and one from Tapin.

No increase of confirmed positive patients which numbered 262 people. Of them, 199 are being treated at the hospitals or undergoing self-isolation, 40 people were declared recovered and 23 people died.

While the figure of Patient Under Surveillance (PDP), Muslim said, was 54 cases and are under treatment at the local hospitals. 

Based on today's data, Muslim added, seven PDPs died and there were nine new PDPs.

The seven died PDPs were two had been treated at the Ulin Regional Hospital, one at the Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, two at Ansari Saleh Hospital, and two while undergoing self-quarantine.

But only one of the dead PDPS had his PCR test results, namely COVID-19 negative. While the swab-test results of six others have not come out yet.

Meanwhile, the nine new cases are now being treated, four at the Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin, one at Ansari Saleh Banjarmasin, two at Suaka Insan Banjarmasin, one at Hasan Basry Kandangan, one at Bhayangkara Banjarmasin.

The number of People Under Monitoring (ODP) recorded at 1.000 people or has decreased by 11.
