Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Taskforce (SKK Migas) together with UAE's Mubadala Petroleum have provided support for journalists of Antara East Kalimantan, Antara South Kalimantan, Banjarmasin Post, Antara South, and West Sulawesi and Radar Sulbar in their duties amid the threat of COVID-19 pandemic. 

"With the support, our fellow journalists could continue to work effectively, efficiently, and also protect themselves by wearing masks and gloves," said Camelia Martini, Acting Manager of External Relations & Communications of Mubadala Petroleum, Friday (May 8, 2020).

In the midst of COVID-19 pandemic right now, she said, Mubadala Petroleum played an active role in preventing the virus. One of which by giving support to journalists who still have to work covering news even in the midst of danger of spreading COVID-19.

"It is our big hope that this support to provide benefit for journalists and family of course," Camelia said.

Mubadala Petroleum is an international upstream oil and gas company owned by the government of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. One of its businesses is the Ruby gas field which has been producing in the Sebuku Block in the Makassar Strait. The gas is supplied to PLN and PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur.

Head of Kalimantan and Sulawesi Representative of SKK Migas Syaifudin expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Mubadala Petroleum considering how big the risk of COVID-19 exposure faced by media crews in carrying out their duties, thus it deserves the attention and support, including from the upstream oil and gas company.

“Journalists are among our partners in maintaining the national energy security amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully, this assistance can support fellow journalists in carrying out their duties,” he concluded.
