Barabai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Government Central Hulu Sungai (HST) provide skills training to housewives who participate the Family Hopes Program (PKH) to get them out of poverty.

Regent of HST H Harun Nurasid here on Tuesday revealing local government hopes the training will build independence and competitive of society in improving the economy and local crafts.

The HST government appreciate the hard work of Manpower, Transmigration and Social Agency (Disnakertrans & Sosial) for training to support the regional vision in building competitiveness and independence for the people of HST.

"Bubuhan pian (you) must be active. Independence embodied in this community will be resulted in an increase of well-being of our society," he said to the trainees.

According to Regent, the success of the training, the ultimately is depend upon the participants themselves,
whether actively want to improve their welfare through the facilities already provided or not.

Head of Disnakertrans & Sosial Abu Yazid Bustami revealed the skills training to improve the skills of the PKH participants, so as to improve the economy of the family.

"PKH training is the first time implemented in Indonesia. From 2,409 participants, only begin with 70 housewives who were given the opportunity to join the  skill training," he said.

The training will be held in each subdistrict that has PKH program and will run for 15 days.
