The City Government of Banjarmasin receieved IDR47 billion in assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs to support its social activities in the city.


Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara simbolically handed over the assistance to Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina on Thursday (Dec 19, 2019) in the Social Service Month as part of the 2019 National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) commemoration in Banjarmasin.

"Very grateful for the assistance has been given by the Minister of Social affairs," Ibnu Sina said.

Head of Banjarmasin Social Agency Iwan Ristianto explained, the IDR47 billion assistance was almost 100 percent has already been distributed for various social activities this year. 

"That is the assistance for social activities carried out this year, not for 2020," he pointed out.

According to him, the fund from the ministry, among others, has been expended to build bridge, MCK (public bathing, washing and toilet facilities),  as well as wheelchairs and sticks for people with disabilities.

"But it is outside the Family Hope Program," he added.

He hoped next year the city government will again receive social assistance from the central government. "Because in our area there are still a lot families who need help," he said.

He added that the number of PKH beneficiary families in Banjarmasin still more than 13 thousand.
