Regent of HSS H Achmad FikryBupati Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) H Achmad Fikry have issued a circular in an effort to anticipate natural disaster, such as flood, landslide, and whirlwind that often occur in rainy season.
Head of HSS Disaster Mitigation, National Unity and Politics (PB Kesbangpol) Efran here on Tuesday (Dec 3, 2019), said the circular signed by HSS Regent Achmad Fikry on November 8, 2019 have been socialized.
"The circular addressed to heads of agencies, offices, vertical agencies, state owned enterprises (BUMN) and region government owwned enterprise (BUMD), sub-districts heads, all chiefs of villages and urban villages, oil palm plantation and coal mines companies, organizations as well as volunteers for disaster relief all over HSS," he remarked.
The circular was issued to follow up the letter of the Governor of South Kalimantan on October 15, 2019 regarding the anticipation of floods, landslide, tornados, and tidal waves.

The regent's circular contained nine points, some of which including optimizing the role and function of the district disaster mitigation agency as coordinator in disaster mitigation.
To carry out various anticipatory steps by focusing on prevention efforts in the form of readiness of human resources, tools and equipment, logistics, and temporary shelter.

Evacuation routes, field posts, disaster management procedures, disaster-prone maps to places of health cares, checking, repairing dam condition, floodgates dike, bridge waterways, and other public facilities and infrastructures.

Increase the effort to promote disaster prevention and risk reduction for people in disaster-prone areas, and when disaster occur the PB Kesbangpol must immediately provide emergency response service at the disaster site.
