The Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) H.Achmad Fikry, MAP saw off the dispatch of disaster relief for victims of Sebuku Island, Kotabaru, fire.


Four trucks of assistance with four accompanying cars, ridden by Social Agency officials, emergency response unit (Tagana), Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and volunteers, were dispatched from Kandangan.

Secretary of HSS Social Agency Hj. Rabiatul Adawiyah here on Thursday (Nov 28, 2019) said, the assistance was collected from several command posts, namely Social Agency, Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) HSS, and HSS Firefighters Community command post.

"The assistance came from the people of HSS, state apparatus, the district government of HSS, also from drivers who passed the district when fundraising was held involving various elements," she said. 

The relief consisted of clothing for men, women, and children, blankets, toiletries, and food with a total value of more than Rp140 million.

The fire disaster occurred saturday night (Nov 26, 2016) in Sungai Bali Village, Pulau sebuku Sub-district, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, razed hundreds of houses, place of worship, police station, markets, and schools. 

The release of relief was also attended by Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad, the District Secretary H. Muhammad Noor, heads of government working units (SKPD), head of HSS Firefighters Community H. Muhammad Zikri, and volunteers who also went to bring the assistance to Kotabaru.
