The wife of Banjarbaru Mayor Nadhmi Adhani, Ririen Kartika, encouraged the reduction of plastic waste to prevent its harmful effect which damage the environment and un-degradable for hundreds of years.
"We appeal to residents to reduce the use of plastic and to choose other goods which have the same function to keep our environment maintained," she remarked in Banjarbaru, Friday.

She made the remark when the big family of the University of Lambung Mangkurat's Faculty of Fishery and Marine held a health walk, sport, art, and declaration of reducing plastic waste.

She said to strongy support the declaration initiated by the faculty in the frame work of its 55th anniversary and 11th Lustrum in the campus.
Ririen, did not only took part the declaration and healthy walk, but she handed out tumblers (to replace the use of plastic bottle for drink) to all participants of the sport around the shady and beautiful ULM Banjarbaru campus.

"Our steps today to reduce plastic waste have a big impact in the future. If we did it our environment will preserve, but if we don't earth and ecosystem damage will occur," she warned.
