Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, was awarded with national level honor the 2019 Wahana Tata Nugraha (WTN) award for its successful in managing public transportation.

Regent Sayed Jafar, when he was contacted from Kotabaru, Monday (16/9), said thank to a good synergy between local goverment and Traffic Unit of Kotabaru Police.

“This award is a proof of seriousness of the Kotabaru Administration in improving its performance. It means we made many progress in bureaucratic reform and public service," he remarked.

The regent himself received the award directly from Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in Jakarta. He was accompanied by Kotabaru Police's Chief of Traffic Unit AKP Lendra Ambarsari and Head of Kotabaru Transportation Ageny Adi Sutomo.

The award was given based on five objects of assessments, namely traffic (20 percent), public transportation (15 percent), land transportation facilities (25 percent), land transportation infrastructure (15 percent), and general field (25 percent).

"Hopefully after winning this award the citizens are encourged to behave more orderly in accordance with the applicable law," the regent pointed out.
