Forest and land fires was seen approaching the South Kalimantan Provincial Government office complex in Banjarbaru, around 35 kilometers northeast of Banjarmasin.


Based on the monitoring, Thursday, the fire began to burn the bush area at the back of the office complex.

"The fire and puffs of smoke still visible until after office hours around 17:00 WITA," said one employee of the office.

Meanwhile, fire brigade continued trying to put out the bush fire so as not too close to the office complex. The fires were not only near the office complex, but also occured at several points around Jalan Trikora in the Banjarbaru.

Meanwhile, the data of the South Kalimantan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), among others through NOAA satellite, showed hotspots in the province, which consists of 13 districts and cities, have reached 728 points.

Most hotspots are in Tanah Laut (Tala) 188 points, then Banjarbaru City 130, Tapin 73, Banjar 72, South Hulu Sungai (HSS) 68, Balangan and Tanah Bumbu District (Tanbu) each with 37 points.

In addition, in Tabalong 35 points, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) 29, Kotabaru 28, Barito Kuala (Batola) 18, North Hulu Sungai (HSU) one, and in Banjarmasin City, which is nicknamed the city of a thousand rivers, there are five points.
