Fishermen in fish farming groups in three villages in Labuan Amas Utara (LAU) Subdistrict, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) received 10 thousand giant snakehead fish (locally known as tauman) seedlings from the district Food and Fisheries Agency.
"The three villages that received the assistance were Tabat, Samhurang and Pahalatan," said LAU Sub-District Chief Muhammad Anhar after releasing fish seeds in the village on Monday (7/22).
The fish seeds were then spread into public waters in the villages.
The Head of the HST Food Resilience and Fisheries Agency through the Head of Fisheries, Adriani Razak, said that the spread of tauman fish in public waters was to trigger fish populations in public waters and preserve the diversity of fish resources.
In addition, the South Kalimantan Maritime and Fisheries Officehanded over business support assistance to the Bina Usaha and Bina Bersama Pokmaswas (Maritime and Fisheries Monitoring Society).
"The Bina Bersama Pokmaswas got one gadget, 20 jackets, a flashlight and one boat. The Bina Usaha group got a gadget, 18 boot shoes and a jacket and 10 flashlights," he said.
"We hope that all the assistance can be utilized as well as possible so that businesses in the fisheries sector continue to advance and develop," he said.
