Governor H Sahbirin Noor wants South Kalimantan, which covers an area of around 3.7 million hectares and is divided into 13 districts and cities, becoming green and clean.


One of the efforts to create a province, that has a population more than 4 million people, to be clean and green is through efforts to win Adipura, said Head of the B3 Waste Management and Partnership (PSLB3K) of the South Kalimantan Environmental Agency (DLH) Benny Rahmadi.

"Therefore, Uncle Birin (familiar nickname for Sahbirin Noor) expects an enhance in Adipura's achievements," Benny said at the closing of the 2019 Provincial Adipura Capacity Building in Banjarbaru, Tuesday afternoon.

"Efforts to boost Adipura achievement include increasing the capacity of Adipura at the level of South Kalimantan by including provincial and district DLH officials or staff," said Benny representing the Head of DLH Ir Ikhlas.

Previously or in the opening of the 2019 Adipura Capacity Increase in Fave Hotel Banjarbaru, the Head of DLH said that the acquisition of Adipura in 2018 had increased.

"In 2017 there are seven regencies and cities in South Kalimantan that have won Adipura, then in 2018 it increased to nine districts and cities, and two regions obtained certificates," he continued.

"In 2019, the Governor hopes at least ten districts and cities will won the Adipura award," Ikhlas said.

Nine regencies and cities that achieved Adipura 2018 were Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, Martapura, Rantau, Kandangan, Barabai, Tanjung, Pelaihari, Batulicin, Kotabaru, and Marabahan. Two who received certificates (best effort), namely Amuntai and Paringin.
