A cooperative building on fire on the Jalan Raya Berangas Km 6.5, Sarang Tiung Village RT 01, Kotabaru, Tuesday (2/7). Three motorbikes inside the building could not be saved.
According to residents' information, the burned building is a village-level cooperatives (KUD) office, but it has been empty for the past year.
Syamsudin Noor, a resident who lives side by side with the office, said he did not know exactly the beginning of the fire.
"Around 7:00 I heard people shouting, then I woke up. The fire has been bigger," he said.
He had time to get things out in his house, but luckily the fires did not spread.

The fire not only burned the building of the former cooperative office, but also three motorbikes inside.
Since the cooperative was no longer operating, the office buildings by residents are used as a place to store motorbikes.
"There are people who live in the mountains, motorbikes cannot go up there, so they put it in the office. Usually there are a lot of motorbikes, this is only three," said Syamsudin.
Meanwhile, it is unclear what caused the fire in this empty building.
