180 karang taruna to be re-activated

Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - As many as 180 Karang Taruna or youth organizations in Central Hulu Sungai (HST) will be reactivated after almost six years of suspended animation.

The Head of the Social Office HST HM Yusuf, represented by the Head of Social Affairs Wahyuni, said the existence of karang taruna is very important to foster youth in villages, sub-districts, and districts in positive activities.

Youth Organization can also be used to develop the interests and creativity of its members, which is of course positive.

The Head of the Linjamsos PPKB, PP and PA Mahfud explained that the government program to generate them is very large, especially in the Social Agency, maybe even in other agency.

Karang Taruna are asked to report regularly on their activities. If they do not report will be considered inactive, and can even be considered suspended animation.

At present, the number of Karang Taruna organization in the district is 180. 100 of them are considered as developing organizations and 70 others are in-active.

"But all have been collapsed," Mahfud said.

The chairman of the HST Karang Taruna Forum Communication Supiani explained, in the near future his party and the ranks of the management will try to record the whole karang taruna in the district. Next will be a routine meeting to discuss steps and programs.
