Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H Ahmad Chairansyah said through inclusive education, persons with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities to study in public schools.
He was speaking when he opened socialization and workshops on inclusive education for schools, which have disabilities students, throughout the district, Tuesday (2/4) at the regent's hall.
"At present the HST government has built the inclusive education system that aims to provide education to children with special needs along with normal students," he said.
According to him, inclusive education is an approach seeks to transform the education system by removing obstacles that can prevent every student from making achievements in the world of education.
Muhammad Hasan from the committee revealed that inclusive education brings together children with special needs and normal children in general to study.
"The success of implementing education in inclusive schools depends on the competency of the principal and the teacher and the full support of the local government," he said.
The workshop was attended by hundreds of teachers, especially those in the inclusive education from all HST. When opening, the creativity of students with disabilities was displayed.
