Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The city government of Banjarmasin is now pushing the construction of a low-cost rental apartment (popularly known as rusunawa) in the Muara Kelayan area, South Banjarmasin Subdistrict.
Rusunawa construction is one of the efforts of Banjarmasin Government to reduce slums in the city whose nickname the City of a Thousand Rivers. On Friday (07/09), Mayor H Ibnu Sina together with the South Banjarmasin sub-district head and his secretary inspected the location.
"The construction of a rusunawa is part of the city government's efforts to eliminate city slums. Of 570 hectares of slums in Banjarmasin, 300 hectares are on the banks of the river, one of which is in the Muara Kelayan," he said.
Rusunawa, which was built by Banjarmasin government along with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), was planned to have four floors with 93 rooms of 36 type. The building would be equipped with public facilities that could be utilized by all inhabitants.
Banjarmasin government gets funding from the Ministry of PUPR after all the requirements to build the rusunawa are fulfilled, one of them is the land to be built not in dispute.
